Giving Pain Purpose

I am blessed to have a strong faith. I was someone who sought God all my life but didn’t come to know Jesus as my Savior until I was well into the tail end of middle age. When I finally encountered Him, I fell hard and dove right in. I’ll admit it: I’m a sellout for Jesus. He has my trust, my love, and my life.

I firmly believe that everything I’ve gone through was intentionally purposed to be used by God. This belief reassures me that He prepared a way for me to help others move past the stumbling blocks and pain points in their lives that keeps them stagnant. We all suffer with these places where we feel like our feet are stuck in quick drying concrete!

During this month, as we celebrate Easter, I am deeply humbled by the thought of Jesus’ life—a life that was anything but easy. When I truly understood how much He gave for me, I had to confront the fact that I wasn’t doing anything meaningful to serve others or to live with God’s purposes. I began to ask for that purpose, and believe me, He answered.

When someone first suggested I consider becoming a Christian Life Coach, I thought it was absurd. How could someone like me—with a story full of mistakes, a past filled with pain, and so much that had gone wrong—possibly help others move past the stuck places in their lives?

Over time, I came to not only realize but clearly see God’s ultimate purpose in all of my experiences. It wasn’t just some parts of my story. It wasn’t limited to the moments I wasn’t ashamed or embarrassed by—it was all of it. After all, who wants to learn from someone who’s always had it all together, who’s never struggled, and whose life looks like a perfectly wrapped package? How unrelatable would that be?

When I repeatedly heard God’s clear direction, I had to pay attention. He deliberately put this path in front of me, and I couldn’t ignore it any longer. I became a Christian Life Coach, and now I use my experiences, pain, and faith to help others break free from the shackles of their past. Together we discover that freedom from the past is possible and that it leads to a life filled with peace—a peace that can only come from God.

Over time, I realized what a perfect plan this was for me. It felt easy and natural—organically me. You can have that too. It’s part of your ReWritten story.

I believe all Christians deserve this blessing. It isn’t just for me; it’s for all of us. It’s for you.

Ephesians 1:11 (ESV) In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.
